From AI curious to match ready
Cricket Victoria
Sector: Sport
Stage: AI adoption
Deliverables: Staff training, design workshop, AI roadmap and hackathon
We worked with Cricket Victoria to connect AI learning with the work of its people, bringing together training, a facilitated design workshop, a practical roadmap and a hackathon in one organisation-wide programme.
INTRODUCTIONFor an organisation responsible for growing, supporting and promoting cricket across Victoria, the useful AI questions sit close to everyday work: where could it help, what should people try, and how should they judge the results?
Cricket Victoria engaged Time Under Tension to develop a structured approach to those questions. Around 60 staff participated across the AI Adoption Sprint, which combined shared learning with opportunities to identify, prioritise and test applications relevant to their roles.
VISIONHelp Cricket Victoria’s people apply AI thoughtfully to their work, with practical skills, clear priorities and room to experiment.
Inform and inspireGiving people a shared starting point
We began with ChatGPT Enterprise training for Cricket Victoria’s Super User team, exploring advanced prompting and ways to make recurring work more reusable. An all-staff inspiration session then opened up the wider possibilities of generative AI and complementary tools. Together, these sessions connected the people supporting adoption with a broader conversation about where the technology could be useful across the organisation.
Starting with the work people know best
Design and prioritise
The design workshop began with challenges and opportunities staff recognised in their work, producing 14 shortlisted opportunities spanning repetitive administration, reporting and analysis, commercial and partner communications, and support for cricket operations and performance.
Teams weighed potential impact against practicality, selecting quick wins alongside larger opportunities. We translated these into an AI roadmap with prioritised use cases and tool recommendations, giving Cricket Victoria a basis for deciding what to explore next.

Learn and practise
The hands-on training translated AI concepts into tasks staff could practise, from giving clearer briefs to reviewing responses and organising recurring work.
Exercises covered familiar activities such as preparing updates, analysing information and drafting communications, with a strong emphasis on checking sources and keeping human judgement in the process. Staff also explored how reusable instructions and shared context could support consistent work over time.
“Time Under Tension has been a fantastic partner in helping our people build confidence and capability with ChatGPT across our business. They guided us through everything from foundational skill-building to design thinking and a hands-on hackathon, always making the technology feel practical, accessible and relevant to our work.
What stood out most was their ability to demystify AI and meet people wherever they were starting from. They listened genuinely, welcomed feedback and adapted their approach to what our people needed. The team is incredibly friendly and brings a genuine passion for helping people discover what is possible.
Their support has helped us move beyond basic searches and rewriting toward thinking more creatively about how ChatGPT can improve the way we work. They have been a pleasure to partner with, and I would happily recommend them to any organisation looking to build practical and sustainable AI capability.”

The completed AI Adoption Sprint brought together internal Super User training, organisation-wide learning, a prioritised roadmap and practical experimentation. Each part supported the next: staff could consider opportunities through the design workshop, practise relevant techniques in training and test approaches during the hackathon. Cricket Victoria finished the engagement with training resources and a documented set of priorities to support its next steps in AI adoption.
