Podcast: Are we aiming high enough with AI?

I recently joined Brave Feminine Leadership for a conversation about what I’m seeing inside organisations as they try to work out what generative AI actually means for their business.

One pattern comes up repeatedly. Even when we actively ask teams to think about both productivity and new value, the ideas tend to come back at roughly 80% productivity and 20% new revenue or value.

That makes sense. It’s much easier to look at last week’s work and spot something repetitive than it is to imagine a product, service or customer experience that didn’t exist before.

But that second question is increasingly the more interesting one.

In the episode, we also talk about what I often find when I first walk into a business: four AI platforms, no real standard and no plan.

We get into job security and why I think CEOs should address that elephant in the room before employees have to ask.

We also discuss one healthcare example where adding AI to a single step helped lift sign-up conversion from 75% to 85%, and we disagree on whether the sheer pace of AI is becoming a distraction for leaders.

AI can absolutely make organisations faster. The bigger leadership challenge is working out where it can make the organisation better.
