Jason Ross running an AI agent workshop at humAIn 2026

14 October 2026 | Stone & Chalk Tech Central, Sydney

Time Under Tension co-founder Jason Ross will be running a hands-on workshop at humAIn 2026, Australia’s specialist conference exploring the impact of AI on marketing, media and creativity.

The two-day event brings together more than 250 senior marketers, creatives, founders and technologists to examine what AI means for brands, teams and the way work gets done. Day one focuses on talks, case studies and debate, while day two moves from discussion into practice through a limited programme of workshops and masterclasses.

Jason’s workshop, Build an Agent You Can Trust, will focus on one of the most important shifts happening in generative AI: the move from simply chatting with AI to giving it the ability to carry out work.

AI agents can now research information, work across documents and systems, follow multi-step processes and take actions on our behalf. This creates a very different opportunity from using ChatGPT to draft an email or summarise a document, but it also raises a more difficult question: how much autonomy should we actually give these systems?

The workshop will explore how to approach agent building practically, including how to define a useful task, give an agent the right context and instructions, and put appropriate guardrails and human checkpoints around the work. The goal isn’t to automate everything; it is to understand where agents genuinely make sense, and how to build them in a way that people can confidently use.

That practical focus sits closely with humAIn’s broader philosophy. The event is designed around the intersection of technical capability and human judgement, bringing together the people building AI with those deciding how it should be applied inside organisations.

Jason has spent more than 20 years working across digital innovation, customer experience and technology. Before co-founding Time Under Tension, he ran Reactive’s Sydney business, became a Managing Director at Accenture Interactive following its acquisition, and later led frog in Australia and New Zealand. Today he works with organisations to understand what generative AI makes possible and, importantly, how to turn that potential into something useful.

humAIn 2026 runs on 13–14 October at Stone & Chalk Tech Central in Sydney. Workshop places on day two are limited.
