Generative AI enablement for King Living

“We've had an inspiring two days learning about all things generative AI in a series of educational presentations and workshops.  Thank you to the Time Under Tension team for sharing your knowledge and helping inspire our team” - Leonardo Alvarez, Chief Digital Officer, King Living

In Feb 2024 we had the pleasure of facilitating a generative AI enablement workshop for King Living. Facilitated over two days, we ran two Inform sessions to educate King Living teams on the possibilities of gen AI, and followed this with a half-day workshop to identify use cases where generative AI can significantly transform the King Living business.

In their words “Delivering top-tier customer experience is critical to our roadmap to becoming a 100-year brand, and generative AI will play a significant role across all areas of the business.”

Inform session

The starting point, like many of our client engagements, was to educate the King Living team about generative AI, and the applicability to different areas of their business. We ran two Inform sessions, the first was open to the entire company, and had around 50 attendees. The second was an Advanced session with a deep-dive on content creation, marketing use cases and product design.

You can learn more about our Inform sessions here.

Design Workshop

Following the two Inform sessions, we facilitated a design workshop with the executive team, the goal of which is to identify a number of use cases for how generative AI could be used at King Living, in different parts of the business.

The workshop involves a range of design thinking exercises, combined with generative AI demos and presentations, helping drive the creative thinking. We finished the workshop with a prioritised list of nine ideas, that spanned marketing, operations and data.

Pitch Time
At the end of the workshop, the King Living teams presented their ideas / use cases to the entire group, along with a brief Q&A on each. This is a lot of fun, and a favourite part of the workshop.

AI Roadmap

In the week following the workshop, we documented the outcomes in an AI Roadmap, which expanded on the use case ideas, with examples and demonstrations for how generative AI products could be used to bring them to life.

This roadmap will now be used to guide future initiatives and budget requirements, as well as what data infrastructure is needed to enable some of the more complex use cases.

Proof of Concept

Immediately following the workshop, we began work on the first use case in the priority list. Within one week we had built a working prototype with a custom gen AI image pipeline, taking low-fi product photos and turning them into high quality ‘showroom’ style images. The next step is to build this into production-ready code for integration with the eCommerce store, helping King Living to deliver on their promise of top-tier customer experiences.

Are you interesting in running a Generative AI enablement workshop? We’d love to hear from you.
