Jason presents at the 2025 Camera House AGM
Family, Innovation, and Momentum
Spending time with the Camera House family at the Fullerton Hotel was genuinely energising. From the moment I walked into the room, there was this rare mix of curiosity, camaraderie, and a real desire to learn from one another. The theme of “family” couldn’t have been more fitting.
My role across the day had two parts. First, an Inform Session, giving everyone a clear and practical look at where generative AI is heading and what it actually means for the world of photography and retail. We explored how the tools are evolving, what’s now possible in store and online, and how AI is becoming less about novelty and more about everyday utility. What I loved most was how quickly the room connected the dots to their own businesses, workflows, customer experience, content, product education, and more.
From there, we moved into a hands-on round table. This is always my favourite part. Everyone got the chance to try the tools in real time, see how prompting changes outcomes, experiment with image workflows, and understand how these capabilities can support both creativity and efficiency. Conversations bounced between stores, suppliers, and the support office, each group adding their own interpretations of what’s possible. It felt like a team leaning into the future together.
Between the new store openings, the industry celebrations, the Photographer of the Year award, and the Imaging Awards, the week had plenty to be proud of. But for me, the standout was the mindset in the room, open, collaborative, future-focused.
A huge thank you to the members, suppliers, Raleru staff, and the events team for making it such an inspiring few days. Can’t wait to see how the momentum from this week flows into the next chapter for the business.
