5 demos of OpenAI's new Astra model

On Friday we saw the much anticipated release of GPT-6 Astra, the new Large Language Model from OpenAI that is now rolling out to both ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work and the API.

X was flooded with incredible demos of what it can do. We got access on Saturday, and immediately started putting it through it’s paces. Two things that Astra is phenomenal at are Computer Use (running apps on your computer for you) and also 3D modelling, in particular in the free app Blender.

Rather than bore you with specs, we wanted to show you firstly our experiments, and then a selection from others that we were impressed by;

  • Demo 1: Research, 3D modelling, Web dashboard and 3D rendering

  • Demo 2: Bouncy jelly running in a browser (with ThreeJS and WebGPU)

  • Demo 3: Real estate listing walk-through

  • Demo 4: Playable snowboarding game

  • Demo 5: Paperboy remade in Blender as a playable game

More details and videos can be seen in the full article on Substack.

Really, more than ever, the only limit is your imagination. You can find more examples on the OpenAI launch page.
